Materials and Care
Materials & Sustainability
We are committed to creating jewellery that is both enduring and responsibly made.
- Sterling Silver: Our jewellery is crafted from 100% sterling silver, the vast majority of which is recycled.
- Gold Vermeil: All of our gold-plated pieces are gold vermeil: sterling silver plated with 24 carat gold at 2.5 microns for lasting quality.
- Nickel-Free: All Myrtle jewellery is completely nickel-free and safe for sensitive skin.
- Responsible Sourcing: Our metal supplier is a member of the Responsible Jewellery Council, upholding global standards for sustainability and ethics in the jewellery industry.
- Circular Craftsmanship: Every piece we make can be refinished, repaired, or recycled. We are able to melt down and rework all of our products ourselves, giving new life to existing materials.
- Handmade Character: Each piece is handmade, meaning small variations and imperfections are part of its unique story.
Jewellery Care
- Sterling silver naturally tarnishes and develops scratches over time. This is a normal part of its character, and with gentle care your jewellery can maintain its beauty for years.
- Avoid contact with hairspray, perfumes, and creams — apply these before putting on your jewellery.
- Store carefully, ideally in the box provided or a soft pouch, to protect against scratches.
- Clean gently with a soft polishing cloth from time to time to restore shine.
- Gold-plated pieces (vermeil) benefit from the same care, and gentle cleaning will extend their life.
If your Myrtle piece ever needs re-plating or repairing we are here to help bring it back to life. Please contact us at hello@myrtlejewellery.com
